Cuban Son, Bolero and Danzón: The Buena Vista Orchestra comes to Ponte Vedra

Some music needs no translation, and Cuban son is one of them. On Wednesday, November 18, 2026, the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall welcomes the Buena Vista Orchestra.

On tour across North America, these musicians have shared the stage with legends such as the Buena Vista Social Club, Celia Cruz and Chucho Valdés. An evening of elegant, soulful music that carries you straight to Havana.

The Sound That Conquered the World

The repertoire travels through the genres that gave Cuban music its identity: son, bolero, guajira and danzón. Classics such as "Chan Chan," "Candela" and "Bemba Colorá" are part of a performance that has graced stages across Europe and the United States, keeping alive the spirit of the project that, in the late nineties, carried the island's music to every corner of the world.

Musicians With a Story

The orchestra is led by Cuban violinist Rolando Morejón Reyes, who has directed the Orquesta de Enrique Jorrín and performed alongside figures such as Willie Colón, Cachao López and Oscar D'León. Beside him, each member brings years of stages and recordings with great names in Latin music, a career you can feel in every note.
