Playa Bowls in Jacksonville: Color, Freshness and Good Vibes in a Bowl

As a lifestyle journalist, I’ve learned that some places brighten your day the moment you walk in, and Playa Bowls is one of them. Located in St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville, Florida, this restaurant is a really fun spot to enjoy a fruit and protein bowl that tastes as good as it looks. It’s a franchise born in New Jersey.

A healthy pause in your daily routine

The first thing that won me over was the atmosphere: colorful, cheerful and with a laid-back surf vibe, the kind of place with good energy, perfect for a break in the middle of a busy day. But what I love most is that every bowl brings back memories of the fresh fruit of Mexico, of Playa del Carmen, where I lived a few beautiful years and where fruit was always part of my healthy snacks. That’s why I was so happy to find this spot here in Jax.

Fresh, quick and nourishing

The bowl is served cold, which makes it super refreshing, especially on hot Florida days. Bowls range from $10 to $17, and they’re truly satisfying. It has become part of my weekly routine: between visits to the places I review, team meetings and the content I create, it’s my go-to for something quick yet nourishing, without sacrificing flavor.

A menu worth exploring

Don’t be intimidated when you arrive and see the menu: there are more than 40 options to choose from. I started with the Pura Vida, their Playa Acai® topped with blueberry flax granola, strawberries, blueberries and honey, and it was love at first bite. Beyond bowls, they offer smoothies, cold brew, juices and cold-pressed juices, so this menu deserves more than one story.

Whether you’re traveling to Florida or live in Jacksonville, if you’re looking for a restaurant that blends lifestyle, flavor and freshness, Playa Bowls is a stop worth making.
