Coffee in hand, ocean ahead: Le Petit Paris on Beach Boulevard

There are cafés for sitting down and cafés that keep you company along the way. For me, Le Petit Paris on Beach Boulevard is the café that takes me to the sea, perfect for an early beach day.

Your coffee, without leaving the car

It’s the only one of their Jacksonville, Florida locations with a drive-thru: you order without leaving your car and keep going. My order is a cappuccino with a single shot of espresso and a glass of water with lots of ice on the side. And if you’re craving something sweet, their French pastries are ready to go too; plus, in October, it’s pumpkin and apple pie season.

Up the bridge

Now picture this: it’s a crisp morning, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the car, with its thick milk foam and a touch of cinnamon, and you begin to climb the bridge over the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, the navigable waterway that runs along the U.S. Atlantic coast and, here, separates the city from the beaches. To your right and left, a beautiful landscape of water and nature opens up, and straight ahead, on the horizon, the Atlantic Ocean is waiting for you.

And suddenly, the sea

As you come down the bridge, you arrive right at Jacksonville Beach. It’s a drive that, when you know how to savor it, becomes a very special gift for the soul. I’ve known every Le Petit Paris location since they opened, and each one holds something special for me. But this is the one that takes me to the sea. The others, each with its own personality, deserve their own story.

The magic of everyday moments

If my family and lifestyle journalism have taught me anything, it’s that magic lives in everyday moments too. Whether you’re in Jacksonville or traveling to Florida, this is a different way to start a beach day.

Where: 14474 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32250.
